June 26, 2-6 PM

Fox Hill Neighborhood Center and Fox Hill Historical Society will be holding an open house event on June 26 from 2-6 PM to honor watermen and share the many ways the families of Fox Hill have lived off the water for centuries.  We will have photographs, paintings, model workboats, and fishing gear on display.  Experienced watermen and historians will talk about the various ways watermen have harvested seafood for hundreds of years.  Our watermen will talk about: fish camps, oyster beds, crabbing and clamming, pound nets and pound boats, fishing with gill nets, waterfowl, and building traditional boats.  Delicious “watermen made” Fox Hill Clam Chowder, hush puppies, and hot dogs will be served.
